Human Capital Institute Announces 2015 Learning and Leadership Development Conference
Organization to Present New Ideas and Proven Strategies for Developing the Next Generation of Leaders
NEW YORK (July 14, 2015) – The Human Capital Institute (HCI), the global association for strategic talent management, today announced details of its 2015 Learning and Leadership Development Conference. The event will take place from Wednesday, September 16 through Friday, September 18, 2015 at the Palmer House in Chicago.
The ability to groom high potential talent for leadership positions is a key priority for any organization, yet one with which many companies struggle. This has become increasingly challenging in recent years as the current disruptive market and talent landscape present new obstacles in keeping pace with the rate of change and structuring an environment for continuous learning. Nearly every human capital survey shows that today’s managers are failing to deliver new leaders with the critical competencies needed to drive the business forward, and many current leadership development processes have shown to be inadequate.
To ensure leadership development programs deliver on their goals of preparing the next generation of company leaders, and to avoid the typical gaps in bench strength, performance and organizational agility often plaguing today’s employers, a new approach is needed. HCI’s Learning and Leadership Development Conference will explore the latest strategies and proven methods for transforming how companies develop their leaders. From succession planning and performance management through to continuous learning, the conference will cover the most pressing topics in learning and leadership development. As a result, attendees will be able to identify the agile learning strategies, knowledge management techniques and strategies to support the business by developing high performing leaders.
Through a robust schedule of engaging sessions led by experts and proven thought leaders in the learning and development space, attendees will learn the best strategies for creating a culture of agile learning, how to engage and retain key talent through development and mobility, and methods for identifying and developing high potentials with new world business competencies. In addition, the schedule includes informative speaking sessions by Ben Bratt, vice president of HR, Talent and Organization Capability at T-Mobile; James Mitchell, senior director of Global Talent Development at Rackspace University; and Peter Cappelli, professor of Management at The Wharton School of the University Pennsylvania and director of Wharton’s Center for Human Resources.
“Being able to provide high-performing individuals with the training, development and knowledge to be effective leaders in an increasingly volatile business climate is a key priority for most organizations today,” said Carl Rhodes, HCI’s chief executive officer. “Our 2015 Learning and Leadership Development Conference will provide attendees with a high-level glimpse of the best practices and technologies that will transform how their organizations shape their future leaders. As changing business demands require a new way of developing the next generation of leaders, we are proud to introduce the ideas that can help attendees streamline the talent development process, eliminate talent gaps and meet today’s and tomorrow’s challenges with confidence.”
