Northern California Human Capital and Talent Management Executives: What can the Power of Collaboration do for YOU?

Author: Hillary Roberts | Source: HCI | Published: November 7, 2011

The Human Capital Institute and Vistage International, are excited to announce their partnership in bringing a unique opportunity to a select group of Northern California Chief Learning, Human Capital and Talent Management Officers.  On Wednesday, November 30th, immediately following the HCI Workgroup on Human Capital Strategy quarterly meeting, Vistage will facilitate a Discussion and Demonstration of Emerging Practices in Peer-Based Leadership Engagement and Development.

The afternoon session will feature new Human Capital Institute research, a demonstration of the Vistage executive peer issue resolution process, and time reserved for lunch and informal conversation.

Background:

  • The attrition risk for high potential talent has increased 2.5x since 2010, just as companies have fewer promotional opportunities and development resources due to the economic downturn.
  • However, new HCI research finds certain internal resources: peer support relationships and work assignments with strategic importance - constitute the most effective drivers of employee engagement.
  • Peer-based development also fosters the collaborative, cross-functional and interdependency management skills most important to executive team success.
  • “High engagement” firms that take these actions delivered a total shareholder return 19% higher than average -- a compelling business case for peer-based development.  Similarly, companies benefiting from Vistage peer analysis and recommendations consistently outperform their competitors by an average of 5.8%, according to D&B data.
