Three-Quarters of Employers Plan to Hire New Graduates

Three out of four companies plan to hire recent college graduates, a new survey shows, in the latest sign of an improving job market for the Class of 2011.

After a couple years of bleak hiring prospects, the outlook is improving for recent college graduates. Of those companies looking to hire new grads, 23% said they planned to hire more than they did a year ago, according to a survey released Wednesday that was conducted by EMC Research and commissioned by the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Just 12% of those business executives surveyed said they would hire fewer graduates than last year.
