Practicums

The HCI Practicum

HCI practicums are work products that operationalizes the learning underway in the certification and designation process. Candidates select a real-world talent challenge in their own organization, then develop a business case analysis and implementation plan to successfully address it.

HCI faculty advisors are assigned to assist candidates throughout the process. The faculty advisor reviews the initial outline generated, discusses the criteria for an excellent practicum, and comments on drafts at varying stages. When the practicum is ready for submission, it is reviewed by HCI's senior faculty, who then award the designation. Candidates have one year to complete the designation process, though most accomplish it in two to four months.
