Firing A Leader
Blog:Firing a leader is never easy. It’s someone who is well-liked, popular with their co-workers, their direct reports and members of management. They are highly visible and have traditionally been a decent employee with outstanding achievements in their past. This person doesn’t have to be in a high position of authority or have a large staff reporting to them, they simply are seen as a leader by their peers. In terms of getting laid off or fired, often times this staff member is perceived as “untouchable” by fellow employees.

Will We Meet Rehab Demands?
Blog:Between 2010 and 2020, 70 million Americans will retire and as this group continues to age, they will be in need of more rehabilitation services. Looking at the forecasted numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, all of the caregivers in this arena will be lacking in numbers.
Don’t forget about exit interviews!
Blog:There’s nothing new about conducting an exit interview, but I feel in these times of falsely inflated retention rates, the process has fallen by the wayside. If your employees are resigning without having another position lined up, there is still a retention problem within your organization, regardless of your retention rate.

Blog:The next time you call for an appointment at your doctor’s office, you may be asked if you specifically want to see the physician or if an appointment with the nurse practitioner would be acceptable to you. This is occurring more and more as lengthy delays to get an appointment often mean unnecessary delays in care.
OK…so we’re “The Digital Brand Authority.” Now what does that mean?
Blog:Central to the identity and appeal of TMP Government (and of course of our parent company, TMP Worldwide) is its position as “the Digital Brand Authority.” Followers of this blog might benefit from my discussing exactly what this short tag implies for TGov clients.
At the obvious level, this term succinctly underscores our knowhow in two intersecting realms: branding and digital engagement. As you yourself may have discovered, a productive blend of these two expert disciplines is not particularly common, especially in our Washington, DC market.
After They Leave
Blog:The past few months I have shared information about the healthcare industry, the challenges ahead and the drivers for change. The Bureau of Labor Statistics lists healthcare as the fastest growing sector at a growth rate of 2.3% per year during the next 7 years and this has a major impact on the strategies required in Human Resources.
