HCI Masters Workgroups

Put Learning into Action

Apply Your Knowledge

Every Workgroup participant completes a Practicum: a real, on-the-job project that applies the knowledge contained in HCI’s courses to a current and pressing issue on the participant’s desk. Participants select a talent challenge in their own organization, then develop a business case analysis and implementation plan to successfully address it. The result: learning that actually knocks an item of a participant’s to-do list.

Practicums can address nearly any topic, challenge or objective that the participant has, but in general, we encourage participants to choose something real, pressing, difficult, and top priority. The faculty member’s job is to bring the wealth of HCI resources to bear on the problem at hand so participants can stand on the shoulders of those who have tackled similar challenges in the past.
