In fall 2009, The Human Capital Institute (HCI) and Kelly Services® surveyed and interviewed several hundred senior human resources executives in the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences industry. The survey, consisting of more than 100 items, was designed to probe the talent management and recruiting practices of mid-size and large firms across all parts of the industry. The survey was supplemented with numerous expert interviews and background research. Our findings shed light on current talent management methods, best practices, and the future plans of organizations. The following is an executive summary of the key findings, including critical insights and inferences gleaned from the research, as well as recommendations for improving talent management across the industry. This valuable information is beneficial to industry HR and business leaders as they plan and prepare for the future in one of the country’s fastest growing and most vital industries.
