During winter 2009, we surveyed 358 workers and 105 employers from the Boston Metropolitan Region (hereinafter referred to as "Boston") for the purposes of: 1. Exploring the current and future opportunities and challenges in the Boston talent marketplace - from the viewpoint of both employers and talent. 2. Determining where Boston ranks among U.S. metropolitan regions as a desirable place for employees to live and work - as well as how it compares, for employers, as a place to acquire and retain the talent necessary to compete in today's economy. In order to see where Boston stacked up, from both the employer and employee points of view, with other metro regions, we compared the results of our 2009 Boston Metropolitan Region survey of employers and talent with our Summer/Fall 2008 National Survey of 2142 workers and 443 employers from all major U.S. metropolitan regions.
