Paula Caligiuri is a Professor in the Human Resource Management Department at Rutgers University (USA), where she was the Director of the Center for Human Resource Strategy (CHRS) from 2001 until 2010. Dr. Caligiuri is a leading expert in strategic human resource management with a focus on international management, global leadership development, and international assignee management.Dr. Caligiuri has been recognized as one of the most prolific authors in the field of international business for her work in global careers and global leadership development. She currently serves as the HR Area Editor for the prestigious Journal of International Business Studies. With a focus on global careers, she has written (with Steven Poelmans) a book for HR professionals entitled Harmonizing Work, Family, and Personal Life (Cambridge Press, 2008). Her new book (with Dave Lepak and Jaime Bonache), Managing the Global Workforce (Wiley, 2010) is popular among both scholars and practitioners in International HRM.Dr. Caligiuri covers career-related topics for CNN, has hosted a pilot for a television show, CareerWATCH, and writes a popular career advice blog. She has been an invited speaker for numerous academic and practitioner-oriented conferences in the United States, Asia, Australia, and Europe.As a consultant, Paula is the President of Caligiuri and Associates, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in selection, performance assessment, and development of global leaders. Her clients include several global organizations in the USA and Europe.Paula Caligiuri holds a Ph.D. from Penn State University in industrial and organizational psychology.
