In today's increasingly competitive market for top talent, organizations interested in attracting the best and brightest college students must reinvigorate their internship programs. Successful internship programs go beyond asking students to make coffee by providing students with meaningful work that simulates their future career of choice while also providing a realistic preview of working for that employer. Interns in such robust programs invigorate the organization's products and processes with the youthful application of the most current information in their field and the newest technology available. Richard Bottner, the President and CEO of Intern Bridge, will review the results of the Intern Bridge 2007 Internship Best Practices Report, which provides data from over 12,000 students at over 70 universities employed as interns at a variety of Fortune 100, for-profit, and non-profit organizations as well as government agencies. Bottner will also describe internship program best practices in the areas of executive-level support, intern work plans, supervisory skill sets, compensation, and college credit that can help employers build effective, meaningful internship programs.
