As a colonel in the US Marine Corp Reserve, Dave Bellon knows how to lead in high stress environments. He has led troops in combat zones and built resilient teams that excelled in the face of sustained pressure and crisis situations. Dave is featured in the new book, Now You’re Thinking!, which recounts a heroic and heart-warming story of how Marines and Sailors in his battalion saved the life of a little girl, Amenah, by effectively thinking through problems and overcoming incredible challenges. This inspiring story illustrates the power of creating the right culture and developing proactive thinkers.
Prior to 9/11, Dave was the managing partner of a law firm in San Diego, California. Since 9/11, he has served four tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2007, he commanded a 1,500 person battalion task force in Iraq, and in 2010 served as the chief of operations in southern Afghanistan when decisive efforts were made to secure Kandahar City. He has been awarded four bronze stars and the Legion of Merit for meritorious service.
A frequent public speaker, Dave has shared his leadership experiences at the FBI, the American Management Association, and numerous local schools, among others. He currently works for QRS Recycling, and remains active in veteran-oriented non-profit organizations, such as the Pat Tillman Foundation and The Mission Continues. Dave received a JD from the University of Missouri and a master’s in Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.

Judy Chartrand helps people develop their careers and their lives through better critical thinking. As a consulting Chief Scientist with Pearson she works extensively with corporate clients, helping them develop employee competencies and leadership skills. A recognized thought leader, she has spoken at over 50 national and international conferences and written over 40 articles and two books. She received an Early Career Award from the American Psychological Association for her work in the career development field. Judy received her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Minnesota.
