Presenters

Scott Horton is a Principal Consultant with Kenexa and has 25 years of training experience, including 10 years in higher education and 15 years in the corporate arena. He specializes in facilitating individuals and groups to embrace change, develop their own personal, effective leadership style and maximize potential through understanding the value of diversity and inclusion. He served as dean of students at two of the country’s leading universities and developed and delivered various leadership training courses for students, staff and faculty. He then worked as a primary leadership education trainer for senior executives and managers during a time of rapid change within one of the world’s largest technology based companies. Scott has recently led leadership seminars for all executives and managers of a Fortune 20 financial institution in his role as a senior consultant for the American Institute for Managing Diversity.
Scott brings his unique combination of working with college students and corporate clients to deliver leadership training that is facilitative and developmental. His engaging style is memorable and impactful, focused upon enabling clients to leverage their own abilities and add the necessary new perspectives to create individual and organizational transformation. He holds a BBA from James Madison University and an MA from Ohio State University, and is a faculty member of the Diversity Leadership Academy (Atlanta) and mentors high school students through the 21st Century Youth Leadership Council of the American Institute for Managing Diversity. A sought after speaker, Scott is also certified in the Herrmann Brain Dominance tool and is currently serving as a senior diversity facilitator for the Human Rights Campaign.
Patrick Maher has an extensive business development background and has also served the disability community since the onset of his spinal cord injury in 1981. He was injured while studying at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and returned to complete his B.S. from the College of Commerce & Business Administration following his rehabilitation at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. He and his wife Michelle reside in the Chicago area.
Mr. Maher has represented a wide breadth of organizations during his career as sales executive, including a Fortune 500 healthcare organization, a rehabilitation technology start-up, and both the durable medical equipment and assistive technology industries.
As Managing Director of the nAblement channel of SPR Companies, he is responsible for development and implementation of its mission to establish career opportunities for qualified candidates with disabilities in technology through SPR strategic companies and the channel’s own client relationships. He is a co-producer of The forerunners Silver Hugo award-winning documentary film that profiles the nAblement channel and is intended to drive more students from minority and disability populations into STEM disciplines.
