Matt Hamlet has over 20 years of corporate staffing and human resources experience leading large international and domestic staffing and talent organizations in the insurance, pharmaceutical, and professional services industries. Currently Matt is the Vice President of Talent Acquisition and Management for The Travelers Companies. He and his team are responsible for the creation and execution of this Fortune 100 Company's enterprise wide strategy for the sourcing, assessment, hiring, and development of its diverse workforce of over 33,000 employees. He leads a team of over 75 Human Resource professionals responsible for the delivery of leading edge HR initiatives in the talent acquisition and management arena.Prior to joining The Travelers, Matt was a Senior Director with the Strategic Staffing organization of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals where he was responsible for leading a team of Staffing Professionals supporting Wyeth's R&D, Commercial and Headquarters' staff. In this role, Matt was a member of multiple initiatives that reviewed and implemented new ways of working to create staffing solutions that helped to drive business results. Matt has worked with a variety of staffing solutions that include both in-house and outsourced solutions; both on-shore and off-shore.Before working at Wyeth, Matt led an international team of staffing professionals at GSK responsible for the hiring of Information Technology professionals around the globe. Prior to moving into the Pharmaceutical industry, Matt directed a large international team of staffing professionals who were responsible for hiring a variety of consulting professionals in the strategy, business process and technology practices at PwC Consulting. Matt began his career as a High School American Government Teacher.
Matt is originally from the Philadelphia area and has recently moved to Hartford. Matt earned his BS from Drexel University in Philadelphia. He has had extensive technology and professional development training in the HR field and is a certified trainer in multiple HR disciplines.
