Organizations are increasingly utilizing a contract talent strategy to solve their workforce needs for a host of reasons, including cost, scalability, flexibility and time to efficiency. But employers usually limit their talent management practices to those same areas, while perhaps overlooking one very important recruiting measure: quality of hire.
This is a tricky metric for talent leaders; it isn't standard or easy to implement, it requires thoughtful planning across siloed business units and nimble execution. But it may be even more critical in contracted talent than in permanent employees. With permanent employees, after all, one may have several years to coax out top performance. This webcast will highlight a concept previously unexplored: how can an organization ensure that contract talent quality meets or exceeds what is needed?

Kelly Coleman serves as Manager of Staffing Processes for The Home Depot, where his responsibilities include talent acquisition policy oversight, background check program management, and contingent workforce program management. He is heavily involved with supplier contract negotiation and management, process development and governance, and policy and procedure compliance. He led a successful contingent workforce initiative by consolidating the number of non-IT vendors from 160+ down to 8 primary vendors. The results of this effort streamlined internal processes, mitigated risk, and brought substantial cost savings to the company. He also led a cross-functional project team tasked to select and implement a Vendor Management System for governance and visibility of the entire contingent labor process. Prior to joining The Home Depot, Kelly's experience includes recruiting management and national account management in the contingent labor industry.
