The impact of the global recession forced organizations to change the way they conducted business. Cutbacks in spending, aversion to risk, businesses became more conservative. As we’re coming out of the recession, Talent Acquisition is still operating under the model of 50 years ago – Reactively, responding when approached by a business leader with a request for hires. We need to shed this model, now is the time to be Proactive. It’s our belief that in order to do this successfully we need to focus on three major areas: Connectivity –talent pipelines, engagement and hiring are all rapidly being managed online and via social networks. Our behaviors and philosophies need to change in order to stay current with these trends and remain competitive. Strategy – if we’re going to be more strategic we have to create a plan. In order for this to happen, Talent Acquisition needs to be involved in, if not drive workforce planning. Competency – Talent Acquisition has to change, but how? What skill sets are needed, what development needs to happen, how do you incent this change?
