Presenters

Dr. Book is an organizational consultant and psychoanalytic psychiatrist who, for the past twenty years, has worked with mid- to large-sized multinational corporations. His focus is coaching senior executives to become exemplary managers and superior team leaders/members by offering them a method of assessing and enhancing their emotional intelligence (EI). Dr. Book has also offered seminars and workshops on EI to branches of the provincial and federal governments, financial institutions, and legal and accounting firms. He has trained over 400 consultants and HR personnel worldwide in administering and interpreting a tool that evaluates emotional intelligence. His writings have appeared in the Harvard Business Review; in the textbook Mental Health and Productivity in the Workplace; in the Ivey Business Journal, published by Queen's University, the number1 ranked business school in Canada; and in the Business and Careers Sections of The Globe and Mail. Dr. Book is Guest Faculty at the INSEAD School of Management in Fontainebleau, France. He is an invited member of both the Boston-based Consortium for Research on Emotional Intelligence in Organizations and the European-based International Clinical Coaching Organization. Dr. Book holds the rank of Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and in the Department of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation, both with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto.
