Doug Serrano is a managing partner of the consulting firm, Quiet Excellence, LLC - helping leaders create organizational success. A recently retired US Army Colonel, he serves as an active alumni member of the Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, and as a judge for the Ohio Partnership for Excellence (Baldrige-based) program. As a commanding officer, Doug led the efforts of the first Government organization to ever win the Gold-Level "Eureka" Award from the California Awards for Performance Excellence (Baldrige-based) program.While assigned to The Pentagon, Colonel Serrano initiated the actions that created the US Army's Performance Excellence Award, based on the Baldrige Criteria. He has served in leadership roles on multiple examiner team site visits, including as an external assessor for a Baldrige-based award program in India. This combination of roles and experience, from the executive leader of an applicant organization to service as a leader in national and state programs, provides Doug with a perspective of the Baldrige National Quality Program that no one else shares.His academic background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University, a Master of Science in Logistics Management from Florida Institute of Technology, and a Master of Military Art and Science from the School of Advanced Military Studies, where he served as a Seminar Leader in the graduate school program.

Denise Haynes is a managing partner of the consulting firm, Quiet Excellence, LLC - helping leaders create organizational success. Ms. Haynes serves as an Alumni Examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award program. In this role, she evaluates applicants using the program's Criteria for Performance Excellence, and has led examiner team site visits in many types of organizations. A highly acclaimed trainer, she has facilitated the Board of Examiner training at the national level on numerous occasions. She also serves in an advisory capacity and as a judge for the Ohio Partnership for Excellence (Baldrige-based). She has been a principal author on many Baldrige-based award applications.Ms. Haynes has an extensive background in health care - including clinical, financial, and executive-level administrative aspects. She is an excellent knowledge resource who has directed clinical management, outcomes management, quality assurance, and corporate compliance in several organizations. Certified as a Lean/Six Sigma Master Black Belt by the American Society for Quality, Denise travels across the country providing training and facilitating improvements based on quality principles.Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The Ohio State University, a Master of Science in Nursing and a Master of Business Administration from Kent State University, where she was the first graduate of the dual-degree program and a Fellow of the Commonwealth Fund for Nurse Executives.
