The "Great Recession" may have ended, but its impact on the workforce is likely to be deep and long lasting. Towers Watson's 2010 survey of employees across the globe shows a fundamental shift in employees' confidence in their future and their career prospects — and changing attitudes about both their work and their leaders. Having endured pay freezes, benefit cuts, furloughs and downsizing, they are recession-weary and anxious.
As the economy picks up steam, will the "walking wounded" be able to regroup and hit the ground running? Will they run for the exits? Or will they hunker down in what they hope is a safe haven?
We'll help separate myth from reality to ensure that your organization is preparing for the right trends and making sensible workforce investments to support the organization's rapid recovery. And we'll examine some of the specific actions leaders are taking to reconnect with employees amid the shifting employment landscape and weakening safety net.
