Barbara A. Keen, Ph.D. is currently the Head of Organization Effectiveness for Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals where she is responsible for solving problems and driving innovative solutions at every level of the organization. Most recently, she was the Global Head of Organization Development and Talent Management for Aptalis Pharmaceuticals where she was responsible for Organization & Team Effectiveness, Employee Engagement, Leadership Development, Succession Planning, Performance Management, and Global Learning and Development. Prior to that, she was President and Principal Consultant for Keen Human Capital Consulting where she worked with numerous Fortune 500 companies including Campbell Soup, Comcast, and Raytheon. Barbara also spent over 15 years at Bristol-Myers Squibb Company (BMS) serving as CLO/ Head of Global Learning and Development, Organization Development Team Leader, Global Talent Management/ Leadership Development Director, and Human Resources Business Partner.
In 2011, Barbara was profiled on the cover of CLO Magazine and her team received top ranking on Human Capital Management’s 2011 Learning Elite. She and her team were also awarded 2009 and 2010 CLO Learning In Practice Awards for Learning Leadership, Business Impact, and Learning Team. In 2009, with her Leadership & Management Development team, she was awarded the Blessing White Leadership & Culture Award and was appointed to the Corporate University Exchange Social Learning Executive Committee.
Barbara has presented at numerous conferences and webinars on a variety of topics including CBI’s Life Sciences HR Congress (chairwoman), the Human Capital Institute Leadership & Learning Conference, the Corporate University Exchange Global Leadership Congress, and the Society for Human Resources Development, Philadelphia Chapter.
Prior to joining BMS, Barbara was on the faculties of Niagara University, University at Buffalo, and the State College at Buffalo. She also served as Clinical Psychology Director for VA Medical Centers in East Orange, NJ and Buffalo, NY. She is a graduate of the doctoral program in Counseling Psychology at the State University of New York at Buffalo and holds an Advanced Certificate in Organizational Development & Human Resource Management from Columbia University.
