Debra Burton is the Director, Global Mobility Centre of Expertise at Grant Thornton International. She and her Global Mobility teams support all Grant Thornton firms worldwide. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Debra managed Global Mobility teams at Bombardier Aerospace, Black & Veatch, and at Going-there Global Destination Services, where she also led the HR Centre of Excellence.
Debra brings to the panel over 17 years’ experience in Global Mobility and International Human Resources. A native of Kansas, Debra herself has personal experience as an expatriate, having lived in Turkey, Belgium and Canada. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology, both from the University of Kansas. Debra has piloted and published research on the development and management of international assignment programs, and the adjustment of expatriates and their families.
Debra is a member of the Worldwide Employee Relocation Council (ERC), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and Heart of American Relocation Council (HARC) in Kansas City, of which she is a Board Member. Debra and her husband live in Kansas City, where she enjoys traveling, running, world music and oenology.
