Dr. Walker is the Director of Global Learning and Market Development at Najafi Global Mindset Institute at Thunderbird School of Global Management. She has worked in adult learning and performance since 1995, designing and facilitating talent and organizational development in leadership, communication, conflict management, inclusive diversity practices, performance management, and human resources management for multiple industries. She has specialized in corporate leadership development since 2002, designing and delivering programs for 3 Fortune 500 companies. Her work has included regional, national, and global audiences. She has direct study and work experience in Spain, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, and Peru.
Dr. Walker is passionate about inclusive excellence practices and global leadership development for the benefits they generate for individuals, organizations, and societies. She has been an invited speaker to share her experience and research at the SHRM Annual International Conference (2012), SHRM conferences on Diversity and Inclusion (2011) and Strategy (2011), ASTD (2012), Academy for International Business (2012), and American Educational Research Association conferences (2012 and 2011), among others.
She has been published in professional journals such as HRPS People and Strategy Journal (2012) and AIB Insights (2012), and she published a book chapter in The MBA Women’s Guide to Success (2012). Dr. Walker recently co-authored a book entitled "Developing Your Global Mindset: The Handbook for Successful Global Leaders" (Javidan, Walker, and McGovern, 2013), and she writes a monthly blog on global leadership development strategies for SHRM We Know Next. Her dissertation research, “Do Methods Matter in Global Leadership Development?” used both quantitative and qualitative research methods to reveal the degree to which different learning methodologies impact global leadership development. Dr. Walker is a certified Professional in Human Resources and earned her Ph.D. at the University of Denver.
