Jill Larsen is SVP, HR & Talent Acquisition at Cisco. Over the last two years, she has transformed Cisco’s talent acquisition team and aligned them to Cisco’s cloud and software transformation by implementing innovative recruiting and sourcing initiatives, executing a robust talent brand and social media strategy and driving next generation talent pipelines. Her charter has recently been expanded to include People Planning, a new HR Practice that will accelerate Cisco’s people transformation by providing talent insights, Organizational Design capabilities, and building a talent cloud ecosystem that will enable leaders and employees to identify the skills needed for the future. Jill is the Global HR Leader for Cisco’s Services organization, which includes 14,000 employees and $12B in revenues. In addition, she launched Alpha HR – an initiative which has been a catalyst for a number of disruptive talent approaches to accelerate Cisco’s people transformation.
Throughout her career, Jill has been focused on bringing innovative, disruptive and transformative approaches to Human Resources all in high tech. Prior to joining Cisco, she worked at EMC, SunGard, startups and Consulting firms in multiple HR roles including:
- VP of HR Strategy & Operations
- Global CHRO for RSA, the Security Division of EMC
- VP Global HR, M&A and the HR Generalist functions
Jill’s accomplishments include building global HR organizations, HR technology transformations, talent brand and employee engagement, total rewards, design and implementation of HR analytics, and the design of Talent Management & Leadership Development strategies. Jill has also completed over 40 acquisitions during the course of her career.
Jill earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communications & English from Boston College. She received her Master’s Degree in HR Management from Emmanuel College with summa cum laude distinction, winning the prestigious Academic Excellence Award. Jill also has her PHR designation and a Certificate in HR Management from Bentley University.
Jill is an active public speaker, with recent speaking engagements at the MA Conference for Women, Simmons Women’s Conference, the Executive Women’s Forum, RSA Conference and Working Mothers Media Leadership Summit. She is active in her community as a Board Member for the Parents Advisory Council that connects special needs educators and parents. Jill lives in Massachusetts with her husband, twin twelve year-old sons and two dogs.
