Kara Yarnot is vice president, director of the talent acquisition center of expertise at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). Yarnot and her team are responsible for enterprise-wide strategic talent acquisition programs and initiatives to enable approximately 7,500 external hires per year.
Since joining SAIC in 2006, Yarnot’s accomplishments include launching SAIC’s social media recruitment strategy, leading the implementation of the applicant tracking system, developing and executing a comprehensive employment branding campaign, and designing a best-in-class internship program.
Yarnot's 17 years of HR and staffing experience also include recruiting, training and staffing management positions at The Boeing Company, Intel Corporation, CGI Federal and NVR, Inc.
Yarnot earned her M.B.A .from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park and her B.S. degree from Carnegie Mellon University. She has served on the customer advisory board of Allegis Group Services. She is a frequent presenter and facilitator at various talent acquisition, workforce planning and human resources events nationwide.
