Melanie leads the Human Capital and Policy arms of DonorsChoose.org: a web-based nonprofit that connects over 100,000 teachers to $75M in classroom funding each year. Her team is responsible for attracting, retaining, developing and motivating our full-time staff and growing part-time workforce. She also advises our organization as we consider how to influence national education reform policy and scale classroom best practices.
Melanie has a Bachelor of Arts degree from American University and a professional certificate in Organizational Consulting and Change Leadership from Georgetown University. Melanie is currently pursuing a Masters in Organizational Development at American University in order to deepen her understanding of how nonprofits can optimize the human side of their business systems.
