Rex Backes

Rex Backes has 20+ years of experience in the Human Resources industry, with experience in a variety of functions including Employee Assessment, Leadership Development, Strategic Workforce Planning, and Talent Management.  Rex Backes is currently the Director of Competency & Career Development at TIAA in Charlotte, NC, and has held several roles during his 5 years there.   Rex has worked previously at Bank of America, Spherion Workforce Consulting, and Pinkerton Services Group, in addition to doing independent consulting engagements on the side. Rex holds a Masters in Applied Psychology (focus on I/O Psychology) from Clemson University (1994), and an MBA from the McColl School of Business at Queens University (2001).  Rex is married with a 14 year old daughter, and a 8 year old son who was adopted from Guatemala.
