Robert D. Arbogast (Rob) is the Director – People Systems for The Timken Company. Currently Arbogast is leading HR systems, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Engagement, D&I and multiple other activities. He manages activities from strategy through operational excellence.
Arbogast is responsible for the Company’s human capital management system portfolio including the SAP/SuccessFactors suite. He was the executive in charge of the selection and procurement of SuccessFactors and the related system integrator. Prior to implementation, Arbogast was responsible for the development of the enterprise’s human capital management transformation strategy and roadmap.
Arbogast also served in various OA/HR director roles supporting the business through program management, learning, talent development, communications, compliance, analytics and many other activities.
Since joining Timken, Arbogast has held numerous positions in corporate centers and multiple business segments. In his previous roles he gained experience in directing and managing: manufacturing facilities and manufacturing groups; human resources and organizational development; global compensation and benefits; project teams; global learning and development. He has been involved in many special projects such as Global Shared Services assessments and footprint management, multiple reorganizations and cost reduction initiatives, acquisitions, large integrations, continuous Improvement initiatives, global stock ownership plans and operational “start-ups” and closures in multiple countries.
He holds bachelor and master degrees in education/business from The University of Akron and completed executive education at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. He is a member of The University of Akron’s College of Business Management Advisory Board and various civic-based organizations. Arbogast has been a speaker and panel participant covering a wide range of topics throughout his career. Recently he presented to a global audience on human capital management, business value generation and “Cloud Computing” and completed a Bill Kutik “Firing Line” interview focused on HR Technology thought leadership.
