Sarah Moser is the program director for Join My Village, a partnership between the humanitarian organization CARE and corporate partners including General Mills and Merck to help girls and women in Africa and India overcome poverty through improved health, education and economic opportunities. Join My Village connects our partners consumers and employees to CARE's work through on and off-line engagement efforts.
Sarah joined CARE as the Communications Manager for the Western Region in December, 2005. In that role she oversaw CARE’s west coast outreach and media relations. She subsequently developed cause marketing partnerships and celebrity relationships.
Sarah has worked in marketing and communications for corporations and nonprofit organizations in Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco for more than 15 years. Prior to CARE, she was the senior marketing officer for Give2Asia, a program of The Asia Foundation, where she conducted media and marketing programs including tsunami-related outreach that raised millions of dollars for long-term rebuilding in the disaster-struck region. She began her career at The Advertising Council, and later worked for an internet startup that provided web-based tools for nonprofits. Later, she helped launch the communications efforts for the human service initiatives of the Charles and Helen Schwab Foundation.
Sarah holds a BA in English from Grinnell College and a masters’ degree in Communication Management from the Annenberg School at USC, where she also worked with the Norman Lear Center’s Hollywood, Health and Society program on its entertainment education initiatives.
Areas of expertise include: creative strategy development, media relations, stakeholder relationship building and stewardship, writing and editing, social media, marketing to women and other key demographics, corporate social responsibility, event planning, employee engagement, and community affairs.
