
HCI's Workforce Planning Workgroup is dedicated to best practices and next generation strategies for managing strategic and tactical workforce planning challenges. This group focuses on core issues related to short and long-term workforce planning, analytics, governance models, and managing complexity.
Our workgroup offers strategic HR leaders, workforce planning executives, and HR generalists a collaborative and confidential forum in which to exchange insights and solutions with executive peers and thought leaders on their most critical challenges and issues.
Since the economic downturn began, unprecedented levels of uncertainty have made forecasting future workforce needs more difficult than ever. Whether it be from frequent internal rapid reorganizations, downsizing, or accelerated M&A activity, many organizations are struggling to manage their current talent pool, much less plan for the next one, and developing a value-added strategic workforce plan given the wide range of future scenarios challenges many companies. Moreover, organizations feel an ever-greater tension around balancing short-term tactical considerations against the need for strategic planning and a well-developed long-term view on the workforce.
In this context, strategic workforce planning, with its careful attention to the alignmentof future talent and business needs, has emerged as a significant business opportunity for most organizations.
