Workforce Planning Workgroup

Boston, MA
November 9, 2010

Issue-Based Meetings, Peer-to-Peer Decision Support

HCI’s Executive Workgroups are centered entirely on peer-to-peer discussion, and feature a unique decision support tool our members call ‘decision-benchmarking’:  One-page summaries of the decisions and problems that sit on members’ desks.  Examples of previous decision benchmarking exercises include:

  • Beyond the 2-5 Year Workforce Planning Horizon (Led by Dean Noble, Lubrizol Corporation)
  • Defining and Prioritizing Modeling and Analytics Objectives (Led by Bob Motion, Raytheon Company)
  • Developing Global Workforce Planning Standards in a Complex Environment (Led by James Gallman, Holcim Group Ltd)

These short summaries are followed by group discussion and breakout sessions led by skilled and experienced facilitators.  The result:  members walk away from each session with practical input from their peers that they can begin to implement immediately, as well as a new set of durable relationships that they can continue to leverage at HCI’s member-only portal.

Agenda: Developing Analytical Capabilities

In our November 9 meeting, we’ll discuss specific strategies and tactics that members have employed to develop analytical capabilities to improve workforce planning. Topics for discussion include, but are not limited to, the areas outlined below.
