Ben Brooks is Vice President & Practice Leader of Human Capital Performance at Marsh Inc., the world leader in risk and insurance services and solutions. In this role Ben is responsible for the firm’s human capital strategy, workforce analytics and planning, employee engagement, culture/values, internal social media strategy/social learning including Marsh U for its 24,000 colleagues globally. Ben was recently named a 2011 "Rising Star" by HR Executive Magazine.
Prior to working at Marsh, Ben served Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMCo) corporate center (Marsh’s corporate parent company) as interim head of Talent Management. Prior to MMCo he was a management consultant at Oliver Wyman (a sister company to Marsh), with a primary industry focus in commercial aviation, and lean six sigma capability focus. While at Oliver Wyman Brooks co-founded GLOW (Gays and Lesbians at Oliver Wyman), the firm’s first global Employee Resource Group (ERG), serving LGBT colleagues and their straight allies.
Previously Ben worked for Lockheed Martin's Information Systems & Global Solutions division in various roles including Supply Chain Management, Small Business Outreach, New Business Development and Operations Excellence.
During his time at Lockheed Martin, Ben had the opportunity to work with various retired or reservist military personnel, which allowed him to develop a deep and personal appreciation for the service and sacrifice of those in our armed forces. As a result he is on the board of directors for Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, a national legal services organization dedicated to ensuring equality for all qualified to serve in the US Military.
Ben is originally from Colorado and holds a BSBA from the University of Denver with a focus on Marketing and Leadership Studies. He currently resides in Manhattan.
