Darryl Roberts is an Associate Partner in Aon Hewitt’s Newport Beach, California, office. Darryl’s major focus is helping clients use employee research to drive improvements in employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and financial results.
He has worked with over 200 clients in his consulting career, in industries including manufacturing, financial services, retail, software, health care, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, computers, media/entertainment, energy, mining, professional services, aerospace, education, and hotels.
Much of his work has focused on building linkages between employee attitudes and behaviors and financial results. He has extensive experience with total rewards optimization, which blends employee research and financial analysis to help optimize rewards spending. He has also helped clients use linkage analysis to identify key employee drivers of customer satisfaction and financial results.
Darryl earned his Ph.D. in organizational behavior from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University. He also holds an M.A. from Stanford and a B.A. from the University of Chicago.
Darryl worked previously at two major consulting firms, as a researcher at Stanford, and as a financial analyst at the Bank of Montreal. He also worked as a research associate on two best-selling management books: Built to Last by Jim Collins and Jerry Porras, and The Leadership Challenge by James Kouzes and Barry Posner. He has presented at conferences such as WorldAtWork, HR People & Strategy and SIOP, and has published articles in journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Organizational Excellence, Information Week, and Research in Organizational Change and Development.
