Jim Kouzes is the Dean’s Executive Professor of Leadership, Leavey School of Business, Santa Clara University, and the coauthor with Barry Posner of the internationally award-winning and best-selling book, The Leadership Challenge with the 5th edition launching July 2012. Adding to the list of awards this book has received is the 2009 selection of The Leadership Challenge as one of "the 100 best business books of all time" by 800-CEO-READ , an online business bookseller. Jim and Barry have coauthored over thirty other publications, including Credibility, Encouraging the Heart, A Leader's Legacy, and The Student Leadership Challenge. Their Leadership Practices Inventory is the bestselling off-the-shelf leadership assessment instrument in the world.
The Wall Street Journal named Jim one of the 10 best executive educators in the U.S., and in 2009 he received the Distinguished Contribution to Workplace Learning and Performance Award from the Association for Talen Development (ATD). He was presented the Thought Leader Award by the Instructional Systems Association in 2009. Jim has also been recognized by Global Gurus as one of the Top 30 Leadership Gurus in 2016 and as one of the Top 100 Thought Leaders in Trustworthy Business Behavior by Trust Across America in 2010-2016.
