Julia Abell is a result driven human resource leader with the ability to align human resource strategies to help achieve business objectives. She has a proven track record of success as a proactive and innovative problem solver. Julia has 30 years of blended experience in various areas of human resource leadership including recruitment, compensation and benefits, compliance, and employee relations. She has worked for various organizations in both the profit and not-for-profit sectors, including the marketing industry, healthcare, long term care, and the beverage industry. She has a commitment to personal excellence, values-driven high performance, and authentic & transparent leadership.
Currently, Julia is the Senior Director of Employment at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, a 475 bed pediatric hospital and research foundation. It is ranked as third best pediatric hospital by U.S. News & World Report and Parents Magazine. Julia leads a recruiting team of 40 professionals that source, recruit, hire and onboard the needed talent to staff an organization that has doubled the number of employees in the past six years to over 13,000 employees today.
Julia has pursued her passion for workforce development as a member of The Southwest Ohio Region Workforce Investment Board. The work of this board is to set the vision and policy direction for the regional workforce development system so that the local area has the educated and qualified workforce to meet the current and future needs of employers.
Julia holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation. She received her undergraduate degree in Personnel Administration from the University of Cincinnati and her master’s degree in Executive Leadership and Organizational Change from Northern Kentucky University.
Julia currently resides in Loveland, Ohio with her husband and two sons.
