Erin Wilson Bakst, Senior Director of People Operations at Vox Media, has worked across Talent functions for a decade in the areas of Program Management, International HR, Executive Education, Recruiting, and Talent Engagement. She has worked in multiple industries including media, not-for-profit education, multi-level marketing, e-commerce, and high tech. Her experience includes building several leadership rotation programs, moving companies from an anniversary-based review process to a focal process, developing competency frameworks, and front-line manager training. At Vox Media, Erin built the People Operations department from the ground up. Her team is responsible for the full spectrum of the Talent function including talent engagement, talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, compliance and immigration. Erin’s passion lies in enhancing productivity by building talent engagement strategies, efficient operations, and high-performing teams to move companies forward.
Erin holds a Masters of International Management from Thunderbird and an MBA and BS in Management with a Human Resources focus from Virginia Tech, graduating from both schools with honors. She’s an avid traveler and has been to over 50 countries. Erin speaks fluent Spanish and practices yoga regularly. She lives in Washington DC with her husband, Jake, and their two fat cats.
