Executive Director, Global Talent Development at the Estee Lauder Companies

Soni Basi is the Executive Director of Global Talent Development for the Estee Lauder Companies.   Since joining the company in February 2011, Soni has introduced global strategies and processes for Performance Management and Talent Planning (Talent Review and Succession Planning).   Both global programs are designed to leverage employee strengths while enhancing their individual and team contributions, and allowing employees to deliver strong business results.  Soni is also responsible for Global Competencies and Career Pathways, which allow employees to further their impact on the organization and navigate their professional development opportunities.

Soni has over 15 years of experience as a strategic Human Resources (HR) executive and partner to senior leadership, guiding the creation of performance-driven, customer-driven, and market-driven learning and talent programs.  

Prior to joining The Estee Lauder Companies, Soni was Director, Global Learning & Development at Schering-Plough Pharmaceuticals and led the company’s efforts on cultural transformation, organizational learning infrastructure, strategy, and programs, organizational design during M&A, and change management.  As a consultant for 7 years with boutique firm International Survey Research (now a part of Towers Watson), Soni consulted to Fortune and Global 500 companies on organizational issues ranging from employee engagement, leadership alignment, and merger and acquisition readiness and implementation.

Soni has a Ph.D. in Social Psychology and Minor in Quantitative Psychology from Bowling Green State University, and a Bachelor of Arts, with Honors, in Psychology from the University of Central Florida.
