“Change Intelligence: Use the Power of CQ to Lead Change that Sticks”

2:35 pm

2:35pm-3:10pm EDT Leading Change in Healthcare: Building Deep Individual and Collective Change Capability

General Session

From mergers to shifting governmental regulations to digital transformation, today’s healthcare organizations are in a bombarded with massive disruption – not to mention the challenges of COVID-19! The need to build deep bench strength to lead (not merely manage) change is strategically imperative. Join us for a real-life case study to discover how a healthcare system built change leadership capabilities to meet these and other daunting challenges. We will explore how the system trained over 1,500 leaders-at-all-levels prior to the pandemic, helped the leaders leverage their learnings on-the-job, and reinforced for sustainment. When the COVID19 crisis struck, this enabling foundation, common language, and growth mindset enabled them to lead through the pandemic emerging stronger than before. We will share results, which range from measurable progress on specific change initiatives, to furthering the mission of the organization by improvements in patient satisfaction, to fostering a more agile and collaborative culture. Actions taken and lessons learned are broadly applicable across industries.

In this session, you will:

  • Learn a “Change Intelligent” methodology to proactively build a deep bench of individual and collective “change leadership” capabilities.
  • Appreciate how to complement and extend their current focus on “managing change” and “developing leaders” by adding the missing ingredient – that is, concerted focus on “leading change” and “developing change-capable leaders.”
  • Explore how engaging the Heart (focusing on people – communicating and collaborating), enlightening the Head (focusing on purpose – mission and strategy), and equipping the Hands (focusing on process – tactics and tools) humanizes change and propels human connectivity by fostering a common language that facilitates teamwork up, down, across, and even outside the organization with key external stakeholders.
  • Discover how “learning to lead change” promotes not only more effective change outcomes, but also facilitates the achievement of bottom-line business goals and organizational mission/values.
  • Gain insight into simple, powerful, relevant, and actionable strategies to help those they serve become more competent and confident - and less stressed and frustrated - leaders of change.
