11:05am-11:40am EDT Taking the Leap: New Ways of Working for a New Era of Work

General Session

The world has changed. The rigid restrictions that used to define our work lives have been bent and stretched beyond recognition. Nothing is the same; from our core daily patterns to the way we collaborate with our teammates. Everything somehow feels harder, more disconnected, and less certain than before. And there’s a good reason for that.

Every element of work has shifted under our feet, yet most teams are still using the same norms and rituals that they used at the office. These pale comparisons of past organizational greatness aren’t fit for purpose. Yet we continue to jam these square pegs into the round holes of hybrid and remote work and scratch our heads in disbelief when they don’t fit — all as our teams’ productivity and engagement decline. We need new ways of working for a new era of work that’s already upon us.

In this session, you will learn:

  • Why it’s so important to have clearly documented norms that everyone agrees to for hybrid and remote teams to be successful.
  • Which norms are most critical for hybrid and remote teams to adopt, and how to refresh your team’s existing norms and rituals to make them fit for hybrid and remote work.
  • How to implement, experiment, and iterate on your new norms to ensure they’re dialed into the unique needs of your team and business.
