Yvonne Thomson is an influential coach and business partner, with a strong affinity for people and an abiding gift for cultivating relationships. She’s adept at building lasting connections with employees, executives, vendors, and partners. Today, as Vice President of Employee Experience and DEI at Symantec, Yvonne leads a global team driving communication and analytics to amplify the voice of employees and stakeholders, with an overarching goal to define, embed, and sustain a winning culture.

For more than 20 years, Yvonne has designed and developed the strategies and operating processes that build a line of sight to business goals and enable transformational change. But her clear passion is engaging with employees and connecting their hearts and minds to the company vision. One of the key ways to do this in a company the size of Symantec is by leading through principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. It’s something Yvonne takes very seriously. She believes a clear commitment to a culture of inclusion automatically increases retention and enhances the overall employee experience.

To this end, Yvonne is on a mission to make DEI actionable at Symantec. Her team of professionals is focused on embedding diversity and inclusion into the fabric of systems and processes in the workplace, so it’s integral to how the company operates and ingrained in the broader culture.

Earning a nomination from Symantec’s Chief Diversity Officer in recognition of her stellar leadership of Symantec Women’s Action Network (SWAN), Yvonne was honored with the “Most Powerful and Influential Women Award” from the California Diversity Council. Prior to Symantec, Yvonne has held leadership roles in advertising, marketing, and communication with some of Silicon Valley's leading technology companies including Hewlett Packard, Intuit, and eBay.

A native Californian, Yvonne holds an MBA and a B.S. in Marketing from Santa Clara University.
