Manager of Internal Communications & Culture, Ting

I am the Manager of Culture & Internal Communications for the Ting People Team. I started in summer of 2015 as the manager of my town’s fiber network (Westminster, MD) fresh out of the education world.  I was with Carroll County Public Schools for 10 years as a high school counselor and then an assistant principal at the career and technology center.

In my role as local manager, I had the pleasure of talking to the local government and attending community events as an ambassador of the product and the brand. Seeing the benefit our product had on my own community, it was no trouble at all to be an evangelist for Ting Internet.  But, what I really fell in love with was the human aspect of my company.  We never wavered from focusing on our customers, openly acknowledging that we are humans first. Hand in hand with how we treated our customers was how we treated each other - with trust and empathy.  I was empowered to dare mighty things and earned respect from my leaders and peers for being authentically me.

Through the years of business growth, I worked hard to make sure we never left our unique culture behind and that we maintained open communication. That passion of mine is what landed me here, in a position that I created and continue to evolve.  I am a passionate advocate for my people and my company and find great joy in doing this work every single day.  We have fun together, and we celebrate our accomplishments together.  Our internal Ting Talk Podcast and Ting Town Hall meetings are just two examples of engaging ways I work to keep our business connected through culture and communication.
